RGA offers 30+ continuing education classes per year, a mix of in-person and Zoom. Of those 30+, we offer at least 1 free CE class per quarter or 4x per year. Additional to the classes offered through RGA, you can find more classes offered throughout the state of GA at the link below.
RGA members can check their continuing education credits with their real estate license number through their state's Real Estate Commission website. Licensed in multiple states? Some states will honor CE hours accrued in other states. Visit your state's Real Estate Commission website to learn more.
Looking to expand your knowledge? Become an expert in a specific field? RGA also offers multiple designations/certification opportunities throughout the year!
National Association of REALTORS® Education Requirements
All NAR members must complete a Code of Ethics Course and a Fair Housing Course during each 3 year cycle. We are currently in "Cycle 8" (January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2027).
Code of Ethics can be completed via:
- In-person or online courses that include CE credit
- NAR's free online course that does not include CE credit
Fair Housing can be completed via:
- In-person or online courses that include CE credit
- NAR's free Fairhaven module that does not include CE credit
Failure to complete these requirements is a violation of your membership, and your REALTOR® membership will be suspended until the requirement is completed. However, all new agents have 60 days to complete the course upon joining RGA.
If you complete a Code of Ethics or Fair Housing class with another course provider (other than RGA or NAR), you will need to send your completion certificate to thester@augustarealtors.com so we can update your NAR member record to ensure you receive credit. While instructors and schools do report CE credits directly to the state Real Estate Commissions, they do not report credits directly to NAR.
RGA Class Policies
Registration
Any exceptions to the below rules are at the discretion of the CEO and the Professional Development Director. Please reach out to thester@augustarealtors.com if you feel you have a situation that requires an exception (medical emergency, family situation, etc.). Real estate activities will not constitute an exception (closing, showing, etc.).
- Class registration is not complete until payment is received.
- A student may not transfer a class registration to another student.
- Class registrations are not transferrable to another upcoming class. If you can't make it to the class, you have missed it.
- RGA does not offer refunds for missed classes.
In-Person Attendance
- If you have taken the class you registered for in the last 366 days, you will only receive the information, and not CE credit.
- Classes are monitored. You must be on time and present for the entire session to receive credit. Students arriving late or leaving early will not receive CE credit.
- Students may only take phone calls or conduct business during breaks. Phones should be silent at all times. If you must accept a phone call, please step out of the classroom before accepting the call.
- No children or guests may be present during a class.
- In the event of inclement weather, an in-person course may be offered virtually. Students will be notified as soon as possible if a class will be held virtually or cancelled/re-scheduled.
Virtual Attendance
- Online class will be offered via Zoom. If you have not done so already, in advance of the class, please sign up for a free account.
- You will need a device with a camera, microphone, and internet access to participate in a virtual CE class. Class registration fees are not refundable or transferable in the event you have technical issues you encounter with your device, audio/visual, or internet.
- The RGA staff is not available for tech support. Please test all equipment and technology in advance of the class. If you require tech support, please bring your device by the RGA office at least one day in advance of the class you have registered for.
- Both the first and last names you registered with must be displayed when participating in the class. If your name is "office staff" or "bob," we won't know who you are and cannot give you credit for attending the class.
- Classes are not recorded and recording a CE class is not permitted.
- RGA requires 100% attendance for virtual CE classes. Therefore, you will not be admitted to class after it begins (we often offer a 15 minute grace period). If you leave the Zoom early, you will not receive credit.
- You must be completely visible and dressed appropriately on camera at all times to receive credit. Please be prepared to be stationary in a well-lit room with your entire face visible for the duration of the class. You need to be seen by the facilitator as if you were sitting in a classroom. The following activities are prohibited while attending a virtual CE class:
- Driving
- Cooking
- Exercising
- Attending an Appointment (showing, closing, doctor, barber, etc.)
- Stepping out of camera view frequently
- Computer work not related to the course (yes we can tell).
- Talking on the phone
- Lying in bed or lounging otherwise
- These are all listed because we have seen all of these behaviors...
- Instructors will provide a 15 minute break during every class. Any non-course related matters should be handled during these breaks. If an emergency arises, please notify the host via private chat message.
